Saraswati Puja, Vasant Panchami 2024

Saraswati Puja is performed on Vasant Panchami. This Puja is performed to pay allegiance to the Goddess of learning. Traditionally during this festival most educational institutions organize special prayer or puja for Saraswati.

    • Jewel. (Original- Gold, Diamond, Sapphire, Ruby, Pearl)
  • Panchagobbo (5 extracts of the cow) -

  • Panchasashya (5 food grains) -
    • Paddy
    • Sesame
    • Mashkalai - a kind of pulses)
    • Moong - a kind of pigeon pea)
    • Barley
  • Panchapallab (5 varieties of leaves) - in case of Tantric rituals these leaves are:
    • Jackfruit
    • Mango
    • Ashthya - a kind of Indian fig-tree
    • Banyan
    • Bakul - a flowering plant
  • Ghat (pot)
  • Kundohari
  • Tekatha - A triangular frame work of 3 pieces of wood. Mirror
  • 4 arrows
  • Gamcha - To cover the ghat a piece of cloth
  • Barandala (a platter made of bamboo chips holding items for the welcome of the Goddess)
  • Green coconut with stalk
  • An earthen bowl full of atop(a type of rice)
  • Flowers
  • 2 Aashonanguriuk (Finger ring made of koosh)
  • Aashon (mattress of jute or hay)
  • 2 bowls of Madhupakka(a mixture of honey, curd, ghee, sugar for oblation)
  • 2 big Noibiddos
  • 1 small Noibiddo
  • A dhoti (for Vishnu)
  • A sari (for Saraswati)
  • Chandmala (Dangler with circular sponge decorations)
