101 Years of Bengali Cinema
Situated at the top of the famous cinema para of Kolkata, Sammilani Durga Puja Committee brings to you this year the celebration of 101 years of Bengali Cinema. Taking advantage of the huge crowd, we plan to bring the awareness and revival of the Bengali Film Industry throughout the years, through the process of film conservation and urban rejuvenation. The Durga Idol is inspired by the one used by Satyajit Ray in "Jai Baba Felunath". The central theme deals with the holistic development of film culture citing inspirations from the most iconic scenes, characters, and elements that bind us together to make us relive that experience.
